The innovation of FAKRO influences the increase in the number of Polish patent applications

A report prepared by the European Patent Office (EPO) shows that in 2018 the number of patent applications filed by Polish inventors, research centres and enterprises increased by as much as 19.7%. FAKRO has also made its contribution to this result.

In total, an impressive number of 534 patent applications from Poland were submitted to the EPO in 2018. The FAKRO Group (similarly to Gdansk University of Technology) filed 4 applications to the European Patent Office. The number 1 in the ranking of Polish applications is the Jagiellonian University (12 applications), then Pharmaceutical Works Polpharma S.A. (6 applications) and AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow
(5 applications).

Most Polish applications – more than 70% involves technologies such as transport, civil engineering and computer technology. It should be pointed out that nearly 17% of all applications came from  Lesser Poland Province where FAKRO headquarters is also located.
