“FAKRO Inspires – Space for New Visions” design competition in a new version!

We start the next edition of the prestigious international design competition ”FAKRO Inspires – Space for New Visions” addressed to architects and for the first time to students of the architecture. It has been 7 years since we came up with the idea of this contest which now enjoys attention of the architects from all over the world. It is organized by FAKRO – world number two in the roof window sector and A10 Magazine for European Architecture.
AUTODESK which is a producer of software for architects has become the patron of this design competition.

This year's edition of the contest ”FAKRO Inspires – Space for New Visions” has been divided into tasks for architects and students of the architecture. The competition objective involves designing a concept-visualization featuring renovation of an existing public utility building (e.g. office, hospital, school, factory), while students will have to deal with designing a residence.“The projects must include FAKRO products. A wide range of FAKRO products creates a number of architectural possibilities which inspire to design innovative, stylish and original solutions”, said Małgorzata Respekta-Paszkiewicz, coordinator of the competition. Having experience from the previous editions, organizers are convinced that the final result will be unique, while roof windows, flat roof windows, loft ladders as well as numerous accessories for FAKRO windows will diversify and add charm to each project. The aesthetic values are one side of the coin. Participants must also ensure that the building is functional, energy-efficient, abundant in light, friendly to users and the environment.

The winners of the contest “FAKRO Inspires – Space for New Visions” will receive attractive prizes. The best architect will get 5,000 EUR, second place will result in 3,000 EUR, while the architect in the third place will be given 2,000 EUR.

The best two projects prepared by students of the architecture will be awarded with AutoCad Revit licence and voucher for visiting FAKRO headquarters combined with the participation in a discussion panel. Another eight students awarded in the competition will receive vouchers.

The competition began on March 1, 2016. Projects can be submitted until September 12, 2016.
